A handheld survival tool that incorporates a storage tube and fire starting device into one ergonomic handheld unit. Large amounts of dry tinder can be stored within the waterproof device while a ferrocerium rod and a scraper are stored externally. The ferrocerium rod is tethered to one of the storage tube caps via stainless steel swivel. When in use, the cap and swivel gives the user more material to hold onto and acts as a handle for the ferrocerium rod, this is especially handy in cold weather with bulky gloves. When not in use, the ferrocerium rod is safely secured within the units integrated leather sheath and the cap is threaded on, preventing loss or damage to the ferrocerium rod. The storage tube acts as a handle for holding the device in place while generating sparks. The scraper is mounted to the other end cap which allows it to remain in a stationary position atop the tinder pile while the ferrocerium rod is drawn back across the scraper. The stationary position of the scraper allows all of the shavings and sparks from the ferrocerium rod to pile up and fall directly into the tinder. This design eliminates the chance of knocking over the tinder pile, and eliminates the need for multiple strikes of the ferrocerium rod that would shorten its lifespan.
